Teck Siang LIM
Growing up in Singapore’s richly diverse, multiracial, and multicultural setting has deeply influenced Teck’s passion for cross-cultural collaborations, leading him to work on international projects spanning the globe. His narrative cinematography approach is rooted in a strong storytelling craft, aiming for a harmonious blend of poetry, emotion, and technical mastery.
He holds an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute, supported by IMDA’s Media Education Scholarship. Teck’s narrative works have been screened and recognized with awards at esteemed festivals, including the Singapore International Film Festival, Taipei Film Festival, International Critics’ Week at Cannes, Toronto International Film Festival, AFI Fest, Camerimage, Busan International Film Festival, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, and others.
Teck’s debut feature film, Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine), directed by Carlo Manatad, premiered at the 74th Locarno Film Festival, where it won the Youth Jury Cinema Gioventù Award.

Notable Works
‘Kun Maupay Man it Panahon’ (Whether the Weather is fine), directed by Carlo Francisco Manatad, premiered at the 74th Locarno International Film Festvial 2021 and won the Youth Jury Cinema Gioventù Award. The film also won Best Cinematography at the 2022 Malaysia Golden Globe Awards at MIFFest.
‘Cactus Blossom’, directed by Samir Oliveros, won Best Cinematography (National Competition) at 18th Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS 2020. The film was also awarded the Latino Students Filmmakers Jury Prize at the DGA 25th Annual Student Film Awards 2019.
‘Furthest From’, directed by Kim Kyung Sok, was awarded the Prize of the Children’s Jury International Children’s and Youth Film Competition at the 66th Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen 2020. The film also picked up another 7 awards and 3 nominations.
‘Jodilerks Dela Cruz’, a Philippines/Singapore short film project directed by Carlos Manatad, was in competition at the International Critics’ Week (La Semaine de la Critique), Cannes Film Festival 2017. The film went on to win Best Southeast Asian Short at the 28th Singapore International Film Festival, Best Short Film (Youth Jury Award) at the 20th Taipei Film Festival, Special Jury Mention at the San Francisco International Film Festival 2018 and Best Director at the DaKINO Film Festival 2018 in Romania.
